The thinking behind the space

A new chapter for the Rug Shop.

The former Rug Shop required investigation and structural rebuilding before a further floor could be added. The project combined conversion with a substantial refurbishment.

Working with Araco Design Studio, the scheme delivered five apartments and renewed commercial space. Upper-level views look across St Albans towards the cathedral. The project received a commendation from St Albans Civic Society.
